Employers are Googling you and if is quite easy to find a lot of information about you online. If you have a interesting online portfolio with a nice Linkedin profile, Twitter feed and even your own blog or website it makes sure you stand out – in a good way.
3. Some relevant experience.
Working in a bar all your university life might be great for your social life but unless you mix it with an internship or some relevant experience to the sector you want to go into. The majority of employers will look for experience over a 2:1 degree. If you can show a graduate employer that you can balance student life with an interesting job, you’ll be the richer for it.
4. An interest in things outside work.
Employers are consistently looking for individuals who have a varied lifestyle and can add different elements to their work environment. Do you enjoy kayaking? Have you traveled? Do you write? Have you run a marathon? What have you done that makes you different? Be sure to mention it on your CV.
5. Fantastic interview skills.
If you struggle with body language or can’t form succinct answers to questions you are going to struggle in an interview situation. You must throw nerves out the window in an interview, the only time to to get interview is when they call you to say if you got the interview or not!
