Motors Most Deserving Student

Winner of the Most Deserving Student Award Goes To….

Having announced the beginning of the Most Deserving Student award process a few months ago, used car specialists, Motors.co.uk, were pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming response to nominations from across the United Kingdom. Competition was fiercer than ever this year, but eventually nominations were whittled down to five quite remarkable finalists.

The Most Deserving Student award is one of three awards designed by Motors to honour not only a student, but a local hero and a business.  As promised, Motors – following arduous deliberation – have now decided that mother of two and all-round superwoman, Julia Hebb, should receive the Most Deserving Student award.

So why was Julia crowned the most deserving student winner?

Julia’s story is one of true triumph over adversity. Having brought both her children up from a very young age, Julia has shown nothing but determination to help her children succeed and to succeed herself.

Not only did Julia eldest child Kelly gain a string of A and A* grades in her GCSEs. Her son Tyler has battled the slings and arrows of prejudice caused by his Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome, to which Julia responded –as in everything she does – with grit and determination, succeeding in her bid to have him placed in mainstream school.

Tyler had difficulty learning how to speak as a young child due to his condition, but instead of accepting the situation or giving up, Julia developed a mode of speech therapy that helped her son to learn how to speak properly. Julia’s method has been recognised as an effective mode of speech therapy among the professional community of speech therapists.

Yes, that’s right –this is truly remarkable woman. With Julia’s help, Tyler has now gained the skills and the confidence to study plumbing at college. Julia’s fierce will to battle against the odds was tested further when her passionate desire to become nurse led her back into education and she is now studying for her degree in nursing.

Julia’s prize is a Peugeot 107 worth £5000, which will no doubt be of great help in helping her to juggle her incredibly busy lifestyle.
