British Isles – Amazing Escapes for Holidays on the Cheap?
With many people choosing to go abroad for holidays for the prospect of guaranteed sun, it is important to remember that Britain has plenty of places to get away for a week or two, with plenty to do and see.
While I wish I could guarantee the weather for you, what I can guarantee is a good time in some of the UK’s most beautiful places. Moreover, it won’t cost you an arm or a leg as travel costs will be much lower and holiday rents in the UK are often cheaper than abroad. Here are some places you may want to visit in the British Isles –
North Devon
Located here is some of the most beautiful scenery in Britain, with plenty of things to do, there is a reason why it is one of the most popular destinations for UK holiday makers and tourists alike. Look at the plethora of different towns available to stay in and around and see which one floats your boat the most.
Whether you want a beach campsite, a luxury hotel, or a holiday cottage to rent, the prices are competitive, so look around and book early for the best deal.
Brighton
Another coastal location destination, it has plenty of history and with the Royal Pavilion being the main attraction, there is no reason to not visit Brighton. It is relatively cheap to stay there even in the holiday period and like North Devon have some great attractions and hopefully, some good weather.
Lake District
The Lake District National Park is a place that everyone should visit before they die. It is a spot of unrivalled natural beauty and if you enjoy getting some fresh air and walking the hills, there is nowhere better. Moreover, pub to pub walks, sampling the local ale is a favourite of many a hill walker, with that incentive, it’s amazing how quickly people find themselves pulling themselves up a mountain.
Dorset
Another coastal region, it boasts some of the best tourist attractions and things to do in this list. You’ll never find yourself bored in this area with plenty of Heritage, having 2 shopping centres and having some of the best weather In the UK. What could be better?
As you can see, Britain contains some amazing places to visit, so why not book some train tickets and travel around and see these wonderful places in your own country. You’ll have no trouble with the language (except if you decide to visit Liverpool) and you’ll make some great memories along the way.
